I was talking to a friend in the org last night, she's about 15 years ahead of me, grown up children and I can see in her face she's playing the same game as me. Waiting for something....parents dying....a tipping point. I'm sure years can pass that way.

i woud liken it to "jim jones", but the death of the members is emotional and longer as they lose their identities, families and potential futures.
they rip your life from you to further their agendas and the hell know what those agendas really could be.
I appreciate what you're saying but unfortunately there isn't really sufficient media interest yet and that would be the most effective way of being heard. My hope is that the negative press scientology is attracting will bring all cults under closer scrutiny.

several days ago i was watching the movie the shawshank redemption and i really got to thinking how much this movie ties in with people who are jws, and deciding what to do with their life.
i was discussing this point with my wife tonight, and it was quite shocking how many people we knew/know who fit into one of these categories.
andy: people who have been in the organization for years and finally look at things realistically and decide to get out.
This may explain why I enjoyed The Village and The Shawshank Redemption so much. Interesting.

I've got $20 says that the WT isnt' around in 20 years. At least not as it exist now. I think there will be pockets of hardcore older witnesses who meet in private homes and such but I think that as it exist now it's going down soon...
